Live Your Dream Award is the signature program of Soroptimist International. Each year Soroptimist Grand Erie gives this monetary award to a women who is the primary financial support for herself and her dependents and is enrolled in a vocational/training program or an undergraduate degree program. The winner at club level goes on to the Regional level and if successful her name is entered at the Federation level.
Dream It *Be It is the other signature program of Soroptimist International. Dream It *Be It will help girls grow up to be strong, successful, happy adults. Dream It, Be It targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success. It provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams.
Soroptimist Grand Erie has run a very successful Dream It *Be It event for the past 3 years.
We not only donated baskets to Brantford Basketeeers but some of our members also volunteered at the drop off day. We had a great time greeting all the wonderful people who so graciously donated baskets and wrapping the baskets before they were delivered to Nova Vita, Brantford Native Housing and Ganǫhkwásra’
Haldimand-Norfolk ShoeBox Project – Each Shoebox is special and made unique with your personal touch. It’s fun and rewarding and every Shoebox helps a woman experiencing homelessness remember that she is loved and valuable.
MISSION Days for Girls is dedicated to creating a more free, dignified, and educated world, through
providing lasting access to feminine hygiene solutions and health education.
Thus far, Days for Girls has reached over 800,000 women and girls. We can reach them all, with your help
Soroptimist Grand Erie supports Tumaini Children’s Foundation with a monetary gift as well as sports equipment and clothing.
Soroptimist Grand Erie supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grand Erie with a monetary gift.
G.I.R.L.S. Power Camp is a three day camp program available to Grade 8 girls from Haldimand and Norfolk counties. This unique weekend camp experience is facilitated by young women volunteers aged 16-27
The Young Carers Initiative serves caregiving children, youth, young adults and their families through social, recreational and educational programs intended to foster resilience, self esteem, and life skills.
Soroptimist Grand Erie supports the Powerhouse Project monetarily.
Soroptimist Grand Erie also supports The Pregnancy and Resource Centres in Brantford and Paris, Six Nations Maternal and Child Centre, Nova Vita Domestic Violence Preventions Services and Ganohkwasra Family Assault Support Services.
We also support the Soroptimist Foundation of Canada which annually offers several $7,500 grants to female graduate students in Canada to assist them with university studies which will qualify them for careers which will improve the quality of women’s lives.
Internationally we support Soroptimist International of the Americas Disaster Relief Fund and Soroptimist International’s Presidents Appeal.
